Regular School Board Meeting

This is a regular business meeting of the Fairfax County School Board. Topics will include recognition of Asian Pacific Islander Month and a presentation (but not a vote) on the Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook for next year (the behavior, discipline and appeal regulations for FCPS. On this night the Fairfax County Federation of Teachers and the Fairfax Education Association will be having a joint rally in support of collective bargaining for FCPS employees. You do not need to register to attend either the rally or the meeting, but there is a process for registering to speak. Speakers must be FCPS stakeholders. These include 1) residents of Fairfax City or County; 2) current students in FCPS; 3) parents/guardians of current students; 4) current employees in FCPS; and 5) business partners of FCPS (in general this means contractors and members of the General Assembly. 

There are thirteen speaking spots and three for pre-recorded videos. Speakers are chosen by lottery. You can enter the lottery between 6 a.m. on Friday April 22 and the closing time at 7 p.m. (evening) on Tuesday April 26. The lottery is held immediately afterwards, and registrants are notified. There is a waiting list also. You may enter the lottery starting at 6 a.m. on Friday by completing this Google Form. Before it opens on 4/22/22 it says that it is full, but that is just a placeholder.
